When we moved into our current house 10 years ago here in Florida there was no fireplace. Since we love a traditional style Jeff decided to build a fireplace for us. This is an electric fireplace complete with plug in logs. Every year we decorate the fireplace different. Christmas 2020 has a different theme. Jeff decided he wanted to go with an iced look and keep it in line with a Victorian style. The garland and the tree next to the fireplace are in this style. Our dining room is lush, and the mantle and our tree look so good in the same open space.

The Christmas garland consists of 5 total pieces to cover a large span. We load it up so we need to secure it properly to the mantle. In our video I showed how I created the swags down the middle and sides. We then show you the finished product when we are done. The finished product we think turned out very pretty with the purples, whites and golds used. We even found in one of our shopping trips some new white bells that we hung which really top it off like icing on a cake. Link for our fireplace mantle video is here: https://youtu.be/X85d6Hwy2c0

Our new 7.5 ft flocked tree that we purchased from Ebay this year is a winner in price and looks. We needed an upgrade, our old tree we had for 17 years and it was large and a dark dense green. Still a beautiful tree. We love that old tree, we just wanted to do something new this year.

We are decorating started off using ornaments that I wanted to push off my Victorian Christmas theme. I accented our tree with peacocks and peacock ornaments. Most Victorian style Christmas trees have lots of ribbon and candles. We used alot of ribbon, beautiful white satin ribbon with a gold edge. Crystal drop ornaments are hung next to special sentimental ornaments kept and cherished throughout the years. A few years ago we purchased the clip on candle ornaments from Michaels. As a result we have been able to use them over and over. They always look good on a vintage themed tree.

We hope you can go check out our YouTube videos and it gives you something different to see and new inspiration for your Christmas decorating. Link for the video of our Victorian Tree is here:  https://youtu.be/cT6g2_zIWFU
